reconcile with yourself

I was always holding a belief that the second place means you the number one loser.
When Stephen Curry sat on the floor watching Klay Thompson being carried off the court, he was the number one loser. When ShowMaker slumped on his chair after losing two straight games in the finals, he was the number one loser. When Kylian Mbappe was standing in the center of Lusail Stadium, even though he had shown the world how amazing he was, he was the number one loser.
“Cause history only remembers champion”. When people unfold the history, they will say, the Raptors overthrew the Warriors' Dynasty, the EDG defeated the invincible DK and Messi became the G.O.A.T. That is the fact. Nobody cares about how hard you work unless you success. Nobody cares who the heck was defeated, I know how that feel.
The other day when the crowds were celebrating for the champion, I felt like the whole world was failing down on me. Because I'd practiced for a long time and I told myself I gotta be the champion this time. But I lost eventually. I know the lot of you have the same experience when the result doesn't meet your expectation you wanna question yourself, if I didn't work that hard? if I'm not talented enough? or if I have chosen a wrong way? But today I wanna say, you gotta learn to reconcile with yourself, whether it is competition or examination, there are lots of factors in it, subjective or objective, you can't control them all.
You are not some protagonist in fairy tales who gets the happy ending every time, you are living in the real world. Michael Jordan lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career but he once said, I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that's why I succeed. Michael Jordan succeeded because he understood that you can't let your failures define you, you have to let your failures teach you, you have to let them show you what to do differently the next time. Only after you work hard enough can't you realize what a great lesson that failure gives to you.
